A little barn’s yarn

February 4, 2014 Posted by Yard Guy

Sunset Magazine’s “Small Space, Big Dreams Home Awards” contest is in full swing. The contest is now closed to new entries. There are 306 contestants posted on the Sunset website. By March 1, the list of finalists will be published, and public voting will take place online during March with winners notified April 15.

Amandas barn

My money is on Amanda’s Little Barn in the One Room Wonder category. Besides being a “salvage” decorator’s masterpiece, I had the opportunity to visit it last December – and it’s as cute as it looks. Be sure to check out all six of the side photos. The dog in photo #1 is Benagain.

By the way, Archives & Architecture recently scored 32 old Sunset Magazine issues from 1930-1943. We got them from a collector in Oakland who had advertised on craigslist.org. We are on the hunt for more. If you know of a stash, let us know.
